Some people go in mid summer for holiday on sunny beach on south. I went over arctic circle where even in summer night temperature dropped on 5C.
Iceland isn't place, is feeling to be experienced. It's portal to different dimensions, where time doesn't exist.
I decided to went on low budget and have taste of fire and ice, challenge my navigation skills, practice river crossings and all type of harsh conditions. What I found was far beyond I expected.
Laugavegur trail is trail of 55 km and Fimmvörðuháls is an additional trail of 27 km or so. I was hiking from north cold mountains down to south coast of Iceland in total lenght 81 km. I managed to hiked trail in 2 and half days, but I spend 5 days on trail, of course camping ????(designated areas).
I first time face life threatening situations, while crossing strong currents of glacier river and get lost on active volcano in bad weather. I voluntary sign up for this to learn. To conquer my fears and find most incredible surreal inspiration for my paintings.
Thank you Dennis for pulling me out of river.
