In todays vlog we arrive in the stunning town of Olden, we wake to a beautiful blue sky and the sun shining as we sail down the Fjord to the town of Olden, we are a couple of hours away from arriving when we wake up. We head to Cabanas to get some breakfast where we sit outside and watch the scenery go by from the back of the ship.
When breakfast is done we head on the upper deck to find a seat, grab a hot chocolate and snacks and watch as we pull in to the port. We couldn't get over how stunning it was sailing through the fjords, the snow on the mountain tops and waterfalls. The water was so still and calm.
Once we had docked we head to our first excursion we had booked, this was located directly opposite the ship and booked through @OldenAdventures. They have a tent located on the dock where you check in with them. We had transfers booked which took us to Briksdal glacier, it took around 30 minutes to get there and the drive was amazing. We arrived at the car park to start our little hike to the foot of the glacier, its a combination of steeper paths and flat paths, the walk is beautiful passing roaring waterfalls and different landscapes. If you're not up for walking wall the way to the glacier you can take a 'Troll Car' which are little buggies taking you a part of the way.
It took around an hour to walk to the foot of the glacier before heading back down to the car park and visitor centre. There is a cafe and shops here where we stopped for a sandwich and coffee before getting back on the coach transfer to the ship.
Our next stop is to get on another coach transfer to the Loen Skylift which was a short 15 minute drive. The Loen Skylift is advertised as one of the steepest cable cars in the world which takes you from the fjord to an altitude of 1011m. Once you arrive the views from the top are out of this world, we were walking around unable to take in if what we were looking at was real as it was all so stunning! There is a cafe, shop and restaurant there, we stopped by the cafe for a cinnamon roll and coffee sitting at the look out point taking it all in. They also have a number of activities you can do there including ziplining, rock climbing and bridge walks.
We head back down to the ship and get changed as its nearly time for our PALO reservation which is one of the restaurants on the Disney Dream and the other Disney Cruise Line ships. This is a paid extra restaurant which is adult only, they serve brunch and dinner. We have done both brunch and dinner. The food is delicious and the views as we were sailing away were stunning.
Our vlog ends here, next stop is Ålesund!
