???? Daylight hours:
In June, we get 20–21 hours of daylight—including the midnight sun at its peak around the summer solstice on June 21st, when the sun rises at ~3 AM and sets around midnight.
????️ Weather:
Think mild, but never hot. Average temperatures range from 7°C to 13°C (44–55°F). Expect a true Icelandic summer mix: sunshine, rain, and wind—all in one day.
???? Packing tips:
Layers are everything. Go for practical, warm, and fast-drying materials like fleece and wool. Bring a waterproof and windproof outer layer, plus warm accessories like a beanie, gloves, and woolen socks. Waterproof footwear is a must. Don't forget a bathing suit for hot springs, sunglasses, and sunscreen—and if you're camping, pack a sleeping mask for those bright summer nights!
???? Activities:
June is prime time for adventurous travelers.
• Go hiking and camping, or head to the Highlands once the mountain roads open • Go puffin spotting or whale watching • Try glacier hiking or a glacier lagoon boat tour • Snorkel in the Silfra fissure between two tectonic plates • Ride Icelandic horses or join a midnight sun buggy adventure • Relax in a hot spring, lagoon, or local pool (a must!)
