After soaking in the beauty of Skógafoss, we took a detour to discover abandoned Icelandic houses — a haunting yet beautiful look into Iceland's past. These traditional houses are a unique part of the country’s culture and make for the perfect hidden gem stop if you're on a South Coast road trip.
In the evening, we stopped in Vik to stock up at Kronan, one of Iceland’s budget-friendly grocery stores. Eating out in Iceland is expensive, so we shopped smart! For just $100 CAD, we grabbed enough food for 5 people for 3–4 days — think Skyr yogurt, Icelandic snacks, chicken dinners and more. This is a huge Iceland food tip for travelers trying to visit Iceland on a budget.
Whether you're planning a ring road trip, looking for travel hacks, or wondering what to buy at the grocery store in Iceland, this vlog has everything: adventure, culture, and real cost breakdowns.
