Starting from the Chennai Chess Olympiad 2022 a new tradition has begun of torch relay. A torch will travel across India and reach Chennai before the Chess Olympiad begins. And this will happen before every chess Olympiad and the torch relay will always start from India, travel the world and reach the host country.
In order to unveil this torch, a big ceremony is organized in Delhi on 19th of June 2022. And along with the ceremony is your chance to meet the 5-time World Champion Vishy Anand, who will be present there. But that's not all. You can also play chess by participating in the Torch Run Rapid Tournament on that day which is open to all and has an entry fee of just Rs.200 and a total prize fund of Rs.10 lakh. All the details of it are explained by IM Sagar Shah in this video.
