Since the 1980s fish consumption has tripled, since then the wild salmon population has dropped over 75% in the North Atlantic alone. It has reached an all-time low, A critical all time low even. Aquaculture has become an intensive farming industry like any other, causing health and environmental problems we all have heard of. Many factors have to be taken into consideration, such as pollution, overfishing, deterioration of the natural environment and so on. Generally the fish farming practices have improved, but there are still issues such as the large amount of faeces and pesticides plus antibiotics. Today we’re looking into the world's most dangerous fish farm!

When you think of salmon, you generally picture a freshly cut, beautifully pink piece of healthy protein, but research is casting the farmed version of this fish in a completely different light. Salmon is always thought of as being one of the healthiest food choices, packed with omega-3 fats and goodness, so it’s shocking to learn that farmed salmon is actually being branded one of the most toxic foods that you can eat.
