CHECK THIS OUT: Footage shows a massive avalanche in Tepee Basin in southwest Montana.

The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center says the mile-wide slide happened Wednesday and is the biggest avalanche observed this season.

An avalanche warning remains in place for the mountains around West Yellowstone and Island Park.

Continued snowfall combined with the 2 to 3 feet of snow that fell this week make both natural and human-triggered avalanches likely.
