Vishy Anand enters top 10 in the world again! Beats his old rival Topalov | Norway Chess 2022

After a strong start in round 1 of the Norway Chess 2022 beating MVL, Vishy Anand now faced Topalov in round 2. The Bulgarian played a fine opening and calculated very accurately to get a nice position. However, all of this led him to burn a lot of time on the clock. Vishy not only made good moves, but also handled the clock much better. When we reached around move 30, Topalov had only 5 minutes left to make the next 10 moves without any increment. Anand started playing smartly and on move no. 37 Topalov lost the game on time! With this win Vishy moved to 2761 on the ratings list and is now back in top 10. He is now ranked no.9 in the world.
