While Most foreign exchange transactions are settled in US dollars, but London remains the center of foreign exchange trading.
It will take a very long way to lower the dollar. This is especially true in countries that have made the most efforts to de-dollarize, such as China and Russia, where the share of foreign exchange trading in their own currencies is very small.
As for Russia, the ruble's share in foreign exchange trading was lower than the Indian rupee's even in 2019, with its share dropping to just 0.2% in April 2022 due to the invasion on Ukraine and sanctions. And I N R is At 1.6%, it trails the New Zealand dollar which is at 1.7% and the Norwegian krone at 1.9%.
