UN To Probe Kharkiv Strike, Ukraine Says Death Toll 55, Shoigu Calls For More Su-34 Bombers | Russia

Russia scrambled a MiG-31 fighter jet on October 6 to escort a US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft approaching its airspace over the Norwegian Sea. The number of people killed in a Russian attack on a village in Kharkiv on October 5 had risen to at least 55, Kharkiv MP Maria Mezentseva confirmed. Meanwhile, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights deployed a field team to investigate the air strike on Kharkiv. Kyiv approved a boost of $8.24 billion to its defence spending for the rest of 2023. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu called for a boost in the production of Su-34 fighter jets.
