UK's SpaceX rival rocket crashes after test launch in Iceland

A UK-based rival to Elon Musk’s SpaceX suffered a setback as its test launch for its Skylark L rocket malfunctioned and landed in the Norwegian Sea.

No one was hurt and the company is in the process of retrieving the launch vehicle from its landing spot, about 500 yards off the coast of Iceland.

Skyrora, founded by Ukrainian-born Volodymyr Levykin, who is a British citizen, said the anomaly will not affect its plan to launch its orbital rocket for the first time in 2023 from the SaxaVord spaceport on the Shetland Islands.
