IM D.V. Prasad has worked for 26 years in Indian Oil. He has managed to build up the talent pool in the company and Indian Oil has supported huge talents in the country like Adhiban, Surya Ganguly, Karthikeyan Murali, Lalith Babu among many others. Indian Oil has the strongest women's team as well with Harika, Soumya, Mary Ann Gomes and Padmini Rout playing in it.
We ask Prasad as to how he managed to build up this chess support culture in the company and also get to know what his plans are after retirement. The Arjun awardee and the man who has beaten Mikhail Tal, would like to try for his GM title and also help other players improve through his coaching.
This interview was done at the 31st Inter-unit PSPB championships 2022 where Prasad represented the team of IOCL-B.
