In 1943, against the backdrop of occupied Norway, Jan Baalsrud and resistance fighters arrived on a boat in Toftefjord Bay, Norway, with a stash of bombs and explosive devices. Their mission was to sabotage German fortifications, aiding Axis troops on the Russian front. With their mission compromised and German soldiers on their tail, Baalsrud and his comrades were forced to abandon ship and flee being captured. Everyone was caught but Jan Baalsrud, and now had to face not only being captured and killed by German forces but also the unforgiving Norwegian wilderness in winter.
