Meanwhile in Europe Sweden has discovered the continent's largest deposit of rare earth metals.
The discovery of over one-million tonnes of rare earth oxides was made in Kiruna in the far north of Sweden.
State owned mining company LKAB announced the news on Thursday, local time.
Rare earths refers to 17 different elements used in items like mobile phones, electric vehicles, and even missiles.
Currently no rare earths are mined in Europe.
The discovery could see a reduced reliance on China which supplied 98-percent of rare earths used by the EU in 2021.
