The Ukrainian air force said it had thwarted 35 attack drones that Russia launched after midnight targeting several cities in Ukraine on Jan 2. This is as at least four people have been killed and 92 injured from Russia’s latest strikes on Kyiv and Kharkiv on Jan 2. The attacks struck residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, hours after Putin said Ukrainian strikes on Belgorod “will not go unpunished”. Meanwhile, Poland mobilised two pairs of F-16 fighter jets and a NATO air tanker to safeguard its airspace during Russia’s missile attacks on Ukraine. Russia’s Defence Ministry said a warplane accidentally released a munition over the Voronezh region, causing no injuries but damaging six homes. Watch the video to find out more.
