A dam in the mountains of Norway burst due to heavy rains that lasted for days, triggering landslides and flooding, thousands of residents had to be evacuated due to this incident.
Hurricane Hans has battered parts of Scandinavia and the Baltic, causing flooding, hydroelectric damage and the collapse of several dams in Eastern Norway.
As a result of this disaster, several rivers overflowed, damaged roads, and injured people with fallen branches.
Norwegian meteorologists stated that although up to 30 millimeters of rain was forecast late Wednesday, the consequences could be significant given the conditions of the area.
More than 1,000 people near the river have been evacuated, and one woman died after falling into the river.  The situation north of Oslo was unclear and the main road between Oslo and Trondheim was closed.
