According to the latest UK military intelligence assessment Wednesday morning, more over half of all pro-Russian fighters (55 percent) from the separatist-controlled eastern Ukraine breakaway Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have been killed or wounded in Ukraine's continuing assault.

Using information from the DPR as recently as June 16, UK intelligence said that the DPR recognized 2,128 military personnel fatalities and 8,897 injuries since the start of the year. This demonstrates the high level of attrition in the continuing conflict in the Donbas area.

Both sides are likely to have suffered significant losses, but precise figures are hard to determine. It should also be mentioned that DPR soldiers are most likely using outdated weaponry and equipment.
