This boeing 737 plane from SAS (Scandinavian Airline System) has been rebuilt as an aircraft ambulance and hired by the Norwegian government to carry wounded soldiers from Ukraine to hospitals in Norway. When the news about King Harald's illness became known, the Norwegian government orded the plane along with a medical team down to Malaysia to get the King home.
King Harald turned 87 years old last week and to celebrate his birthday he had planned to go on a private vacation abroad. It was half way through this vacation that we suddenly had a press release saying King Harald had fallen ill during his vacation, and that he had been submitted to a hospital in Malaysia.
Back on Norwegian soil the King was driven straight to Oslo University Hospital.
