Over the next few years, Norwegian Cruise Line will introduce nearly 1,000 solo staterooms across its fleet of 19 ships.
For future sailings beginning Jan. 2, 2024, the Company will open the sale of three new solo stateroom categories for the first time ever, including Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, and Solo Balcony. Solo travelers may be able to expect to pay less for a room with double occupancy depending on the destination and demand, according to the company.
As Norwegian Cruise Line’s president, David J. Herrera, said, “We strive to offer our guests a variety of options to build their dream vacation.” Our solo staterooms have proven to be very popular with single travelers since we introduced them with Norwegian Epic in 2010. We continue to listen to our guests to ensure they receive what they want. We have expanded single occupancy staterooms across our fleet in response to growing demand from individuals looking to travel alone.”
Additionally, guests in the new solo stateroom categories will be able to enjoy the key card entry only Studio Lounge, located on select ships, which includes a relaxing space, a bar serving beer and wine, and daily snacks.
The solo cruisers can also take advantage of activities designed for them to mix and mingle in addition to their own lounge. The availability of solo staterooms has expanded from nine ships to the entire 19-ship fleet, giving single cruisers more options for exploring bucket-list destinations like Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand on vessels that have previously lacked this unique feature.
A growing number of individuals are choosing to travel the world solo, rather than traveling in traditional groups with friends, family, or partners, according to Norwegian, as the popularity of solo travel within the tourism industry continues to grow.
