Norway is sinking! Houses washed away when a dam broke in Norway

Days of heavy rain triggered flooding in mountainous southern Norway. A dam on a Norwegian river partly collapsed after heavy rain on Wednesday, sending water gushing through a wide gap in the structure, and the prime minister said the country should be prepared for more floods in the coming days.

The Glomma, Norway’s longest and most voluminous river, is dammed at the Braskereidfoss hydroelectric power plant, which was under water and out of operation. Huge volumes of water were pouring over the western parts of the dam. The water ripped apart a two-lane road and fences that ran across the top of the dam.
