To commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November, the Norwegian royal family along with government staff took part in a ceremony at Oslo Cathedral, the country’s oldest church, while crowds chanted “Free Palestine” outside.
Taking place annually on 29 November, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People marks the anniversary of UN resolution 181, which recommended the partitioning of Palestine into two separate states.
Norway was one of several countries to mark the date all over the world. In May this year Norway formally recognised the State of Palestine, alongside Spain and Ireland.
