Welcome to Alta in Northern Norway. This small functional city is known for its UNESCO World Heritage listed rock art centre and the northern lights cathedral: https://www.lifeinnorway.net/northern-lights-cathedral-alta/
Consecrated in 2013, the cathedral is made of concrete with an external cladding of shimmering titanium sheets. Together with the circular shape, it’s all meant to honour nature’s light show, the aurora borealis, or the northern lights. Not everyone is a fan of the modern exterior, but far more are impressed with what lies inside.
