Following the leak of the Nobel Prize in chemistry yesterday, the prize for literature was awarded according to schedule on Thursday afternoon.
It went to Norwegian author, Jon Fosse, who is one of the most widely performed playwrights in the world and was awarded the biggest prize in global theater, the Ibsen award, back in 2010.
The Swedish Academy said he was selected “for his innovative plays and prose which gives voice to the unsayable.”
The remaining Nobel prizes to be announced are those in Peace and Economic Sciences, due on Friday and next Monday respectively.
