Speaking just after announcing the winners of this year's Nobel Peace Prize, the Chair of Norway's Nobel Committee, Breit Reiss-Andersen, says "this prize is not addressing President Putin", before adding that his government "is representing an authoritarian government that is suppressing human rights activists." The 2022 Prize's joint winners are: jailed Belarusian activist, Ales Bialiatski, Russian human rights organisation, Memorial, and Ukrainian human organisation, the Center for Civil Liberties.
