Watch the amazing moment king penguin, Sir Nils Olav III was promoted to Major General ????

The bird is a resident of Edinburgh Zoo and the official mascot of His Majesty the King’s Guard of Norway.

After beginning as a mascot, he was first promoted to corporal in 1982, sergeant in 1987, regimental sergeant major in 1993, honourable regimental sergeant major in 2001, colonel-in-chief in 2005, and got a knighthood in 2008.

The latest honour now means he holds the third highest rank in the Norwegian Army!
