The excellent Norwegian director behind Max Manus: Man of War and Kon-Tiki, Joachim Rønning has gone on to become one of Disney's most valuable directors, helming Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Tron: Ares, and the new film, Young Woman and the Sea. He spoke with MovieWeb's Will Sayre about directing the new Daisy Ridley biopic about the Olympic swimmer, Gertrude Ederle. It was a nice break for Rønning, who is now heading back into the editing room to finish the third Tron film, Tron: Ares.

Young Woman and the Sea was released in theaters May 31, 2024.
