The Wall Street Journal is reporting Israel and Qatar officials are set to meet in Norway.

According to the publisher, the two sides are set to meet and revive talks about the release of hostages held in Gaza.

The gifting of the hostages would be in return for a ceasefire.

The Qatar officials will also ask for the freeing of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

Calls for a de-escalation have mounted as US US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
