An image of a Polar Bear resting on an ice cap in the Arctic Ocean has won the Wildlife Photograph of the Year People’s Choice Awards.
The snoozing Polar Bear was snapped by an amateur UK photographer during a three-day expedition to Norway’s Svalbard Archipelago.
The picture beat out four other highly commended finalist images, including a happy pond turtle playing with a dragonfly and a flock of starlings flying in the shape of a giant bird above Rome.
Other images included two lionesses grooming their cubs after a successful hunt in Kenya and two jellyfish mimicking the Aurora Borealis above in northern Norway.
All five images will be showcased online at London’s Natural History Museum until the end of June.
