Tesla-certified repair shops can resume work on Tesla vehicles starting May 1, 2024, with some exceptions. Repairs on Tesla-owned vehicles, those with transport damage, and cars under factory warranty remain prohibited. The easing of restrictions will significantly reduce the backlog at about 80 affected shops. This move comes after an earlier concession by IF Metall union, amidst a broader strategy to pressure Tesla into signing a collective bargaining agreement. The strike, beginning in October last year, has seen support from unions in Norway and Denmark with sympathy strikes.
