Haaland causes controversy after plane joke in 9/11 post!
Internet users criticised the fact that the post was published on the anniversary of the attack in 2001.
Norwegian striker Erling Haaland made a post that upset some internet users. The Manchester City player posted a photo of himself jumping to finish during a training session for the Norwegian national team.
"AIRling Haaland", reads the caption of the post, a joke about the fact that the word "air" sounds similar to the first letters of his name.
Next to the text, however, is an aeroplane emoji. On social media, the player received criticism because it was the anniversary of the attack that took place on 11 September 2001 in New York, when two planes hijacked by the terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda hit the Twin Towers.
