Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been detained in Norway after joining a protest against a wind farm.

Ms Thunberg took part in the demonstration against the wind farms which are built on reindeer pastures the Indigenous Sami community use for herding.

Norway’s supreme court ruled in 2021 the turbines built on two wind farms in the Fosen region violated Sami rights under international conventions, however, the project remains in place more than a year later.
