In just days, thousands of rebel fighters have taken over much of the city of Aleppo and surrounding areas in Syria's northwest.
Syria and its ally Russia have retaliated with airstrikes, including on the rebel-held city of Idlib overnight, killing and injuring a number of people. It's the biggest challenge in years to the Assad regime.
The fighting has forced thousands of locals to leave their homes, including many children, according to the UN and other groups. These families here fled Aleppo and the area around Idlib and have sought sanctuary at a camp for displaced people. The violence has created the largest wave of displacement in years.
For more on this, we talk to Ahmad Bayram. He is the Regional Media and Communications Adviser with the Norwegian Refugee Council's Middle East Regional Office and joins us from Amman.
