Haaland later withdrew from Norwegian squad during the international break due to a groin injury and missed European Championship qualification against Spain and Georgia. "We spoke [on Friday] and he didn't feel appropriate," City boss Pep Guardiola said after the game. "Of course want to take risks, it's an important game but we have Julian [Alvarez] and now have a long week to recover. I hope he can be involved next weekend [against Southampton in the Premier League]." After both teams won 4-1 on Saturday, City are eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
