Cruise news today. On Monday, the cruise ship Ocean Explorer ran aground off the coast of Northeast Greenland with 206 passengers and crew on board, and there are no reports of injuries or damage to the local area. The Arctic Command's closest unit is an offshore patrol vessel named Knud Rass-mew-sin, which is approximately 1,200 nautical miles away and is expected to arrive at the grounded ship on Friday morning, weather dependant. The Arctic Command is working with other partners to investigate whether other units can have a shorter and faster route to the grounded ship. Due to this overwhelming demand and sales of Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, the line has extended reservations through April 2026, with the ship officially launching in January 2024 from its homeport at Port Miami. Cruise line stock prices for CCL, RCL, and NCLH.
