A video has emerged from Ukraine showing what’s described as a Russian surface-to-air missile launched from an unidentified air defense system failing spectacularly, potentially damaging its own launcher in the process.
Experts have said the video is most likely of a Russian system that fired a malfunctioning interceptor. Reports say that the night-time incident involved a Russian-operated mobile air defence system that was part of the invasion force within Ukraine. The incident is reported to have occurred in the city of Alchevsk in Ukraine’s Luhansk region, possibly in the early hours of June 24.
