Richard Denniss, the executive director of The Australia Institute think-tank, lashed out at the Australian government for making more money from taxing HELP than the petroleum resource rent tax.

“Thank you, children. You’re the backbone of our economy, not the gas industry,” Denniss said, speaking at the @PressClubAust on Wednesday.

In the 2023 financial year, the sum made from the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax was $2.3 billion, compared to $4.95 billion from HELP. #news #universitystudent #taxes
